Good day, I would like to start growing bananas. I have done some research. I have been looking into 3 bananas (SDC, Dwarf Red, and a Dwarf C). The only problem is I would like to start out with only 2 bananas (one for a friend and one for me). Since I live in the north, I plan on having the plants in pots and bring them in during the winter. I would like fruit. In your expert opinion, which 2 should I buy? I would also welcome any help with growing them. Thank you for your time.

Skip the SDC and trade the DC for a Dwarf Namwah.

Thank you for the advice. Why the Dwarf Namwah?

It's still dwarf, a better performer and far better taste.

Hi I suggest the Williams, here is the info 'Williams Hybrid' is one of the main bananas of commerce. The plant grows to 6 to 8 feet. They produce very large heads of fruit that are sweet and delicious. They are wind resistant and cold hardy. see pic at link below
