| Im pretty sure its a Musa velutina. Some claim its relaibly cold tolerant and would survive a zone 8 (even a zone 7) but i wouldnt let such a beautiful banana meet possible death. It seems very happy! Good luck |

I am confirming it is a Musa Velutina. They are small enough to pot a pup up and bring it inside over the cool weather period. |

| I really like this banana. Its been in the ground for me for about 5 years. I'm actually located in the 7b part of the hardiness map, but more often than not, the last 12 winters have been no colder than 8. I'd say give one of the pups a try in the ground next spring. |
