I planted a banana from a friend this spring. It has blossomed into 4 7' tall plants along with about 5 pups. I plan on overwintering in the ground, but have a question regarding the pups. Should I remove the pups from the mother before frost and plant individually in pots?
I was planning on transplanting a few pups in the spring to a new location in the yard, however I am wondering if bringing the pups in for the winter would be better? Also, I have read that pups should be approx 2 feet tall before cutting from the mother. In this case, should I just remove all pups before first frost?
thanks
