I have a banana plant I want to bring inside for the winter. It is not cold hardy. It's in about a 5 gallon container about 3 to 4 feet tall. I tipped it over and noticed roots coming out of all the holes in the bottom. Should I put this in a bigger container or just cut the roots off and leave it as is until the spring? Thanks ellen!

Ellen, just cut the roots off and haul it in. Which one do you have?

Repot in next size up in the spring...Should be fine...They like to be somewhat rootbound.
