transplanting bananas to new site

I will be moving in about 2 weeks and need some advice about taking some of my bananas with me. When I dig up my plants, should I replant them immediately in the newly prepared site (I am moving only 3 miles from my present location), or should I leave them in pots for the winter and replant in the spring? The plants I want to move are one year old, about 5' or less in height, Dwarf Cavendish variety. Thanks for your ideas!

Success will depend on growth. If it is cool enough for them to be "dormant" they will not be in a hurry to grow new roots and leaves - so potting them so you could keep them inside where it is warmer, might make sense.
