What to do with Musa Basjoo that was dug up??

I dug up my Musa Basjoo the other day. Had 5 stalks coming out of the ground. When I dug it up it was clumped together in one big disc shape. Can I just put this in a black plastic bag and put it in the basement? Should I try and seperate the 5 stalks from this clump?

As long as you can move them like that you should be able to store them like that. I would not break them apart now as they will be going dormant and giving them a wound would be inviting a chance to rot. Breaking them apart in spring when you plant them out should work fine.

I would also be wary of storing in plastic. I usually do bare root but think this is way too dry. Some people pot them into very loose dirt and just leave them very dry. I would maybe try burlap but watch it for signs of mold/mildew. Plastic just sounds like a good chance for mush.
