browning leaves on dwarf cavendish

Just brought in a 'Dwarf Cavendish' and noticed that several of the leaf edges are turning brown and brittle. It's only been in for a few days. What is causing this? I placed the pot in a Southern window in an upstairs bedroom which stays pretty cool in the winter. What is too cool? Any other advice? The plant is about 3ft and has a couple pups. Thanks

I have two huge clumps of basjoo. Every year about this time as the days get shorter, the leaves turn yellow, then brown and dry.
