I use what ever I have on hand,becuase I keep these pups growing all thru the winter,because pups like to grow,and not go dormant,but them close to a window lots of sun turn them on a regular bases.

I agree with dbryal1. I dug my bananas out several weeks ago, sliced off the pups, potted them up and they are in my basement under lights growing. The mamas I will keep in dormant storage.

Wll an aqaurium light work ?

I don't know how much light you aquarium light puts out but I am guessing it wont be enough light. I keep my little pups under a 75W spot light. The mama I keep in the same room in a corner, bare rooted. she just sits all winter, dries out and then hopefully will grow again next springtime. I don't have a cool spot in my house or basement and my garage can get down into the mid 30's. I think thats too cold.

I took my 3 mammas cut off all the leaves and wrapped them in a sheet and put garbage bags over them and put them in my closet .I'm hoping that they will go dormant..A friend give me the idea evidentally it works for him every year .
