Hi banana friends!

Here is zone 9a and I am going to prepare the overwintering

of Musa Williams Hybrid outdoors on the ground. What I am

intending is to cut all petioles and wrap pseudostem with

strawmats and then overwrap it with plastic sheets to pre-

vent rain and cold air from sneaking in the plant.

However, doing so especially using plastic sheets could choke to kill the plant as the plant can only breathe little. Or will nothing wrong happen as the plant will be

hibernating under the temperature of 40F or so?

What is your opinion on this issue?
