Full StoryWhat is the best way to support a Banana plant that is leaning over and appears to be in danger of snapping off at the base? Several of my tallest, and some of my largest caliper plants have me worried. We get lots of wind here, and I suspect that and soft, rich soil are to blame.
How do I prop them up without damaging them? Do you use a sling-type support to go around the pseudostem? I think just using bare wood against them would cause lacerations?
I have lots of the black mesh support used for staking other types of trees, but I think it will cut Banana trees in half.
Rubber tire type padding?
