On the east side - will it get morning sun there? if so thats the place to plant it - might grow a little slower but the wind will shred it in no time out in the open - Most higher end nurseries will carry the Basjoo

I bought 2 from Goldner Walsh in Pontiac last summer, and I bought 1 off ebay this past summer. Goldner walsh is expensive though, $25 a piece, and they were only 1 gallons, neither of which came back this past spring. I'm hoping to have better luck come next spring. Also, check Meijer in the garden center in the summer. They had a lot last summer for something like $10, but this summer they didn't have any.

You might want to plant a couple and put one out in the wind.I just love the sound of the leaves blowing in the wind. They are still pretty when they get shredded anyway.
