Moving/storing/smuggling banana

Fori

I have a little banana potted plant (dwarf cavendish) and I'm moving to a warmer location. Movers don't like to move plants, but I think I can toss it into my junk if I strip it down to the corm.

What's the best way to prep it for travel? Treat it like winter storage? (I've never done that before, but there's alot of info on that here.)

An additional question: if one happened to leave their potted DC outside when it got really cold and the leaves all turned brown and died, but the stems look green still, is that plant likely to recover...if stripped to the corm and stuffed in a moving van for week?

Any tips? I know it's not hard to replace, so I won't cry if it dies, but it'd be nice to keep it.
