Squishy inside-)

After being left outside for too long, I dug up and brought my nanas inside out of the cold. All of them are bouncing back really well, except, ironically, the ice cream.

It's squishy inside the stalk and so I peeled the dead leaves open to where I saw the newest leave, not evolved yet, and that was a little brown and squishy but there was some green at the bottom. I did this to help it dry out so it wouldn't rot away. Was that bad?

And if it all does go to rot, do I cut the stalk down and a pup will come up from the corm?
