| Dear All,
I have had a mother banana tree for a few years now. she produces about 5 pups total that i didnt disturb. for about six months the mother plants growth stopped. it didnt show signs of stress or disease but it wasnt growing. I cut it down and left all the pups. six months later i have these two pups about four feet but for the past 3 months they havent really grown at all. Just kind of went dormant. They have tightly packed crowns which looks as if it wants to split but i know that isnt possible. Also the leaf spirals inside the crown are growing next to each other kinda of. Its very strange. If anyone has any advice on if this is a bug or something i am doing wrong? |

| it is a major problem in hawaii ( bunchy top ) which is why banana plants can't be sent to the main land. there is no cure for it best to cut the mat down and start over. hope you don't catch it again. |
