Congrats on your new Banana.. Do you know what type it is? I winter most of mine over under the house(bare root) but I do keep the smaller ones inside.. I think you should be fine.. It is better to under water than to over water..It will probably slow down and rest for the winter (which is great) and be ready to preform come spring.. I don't fert. in winter but there are alot of opinions about all of this out here..LOL Best of Luck!

Just as Chena says, don't water that much. Let the soil get dry between waterings. At least the top inch or so. I don't fertilize in the winter either. The most important thing for a banana plant indoors, over winter is warmth. Not having sunlight won't kill the plant. The idea is just to keep the banana alive till spring when you can place it outside again.

And remember - even if the plant looks like it has died (or stops making new leaves) - just wait. They often die back but then start growing again come spring. The plant grows from a corm, and if you keep it alive, the plant can regrow.
