Could someone help me please?

Hello,

I have asked here before for help in and ID of a banana plant.. I am new to them yet... Could some please help me with the ID of this one... My brother in law gave me this for Thanksgiven.... it is almost as tall as I am... he grows in outside and this is a pup... wow what a put.. He digs them up for winter and brings inside.. They are in crappy soil and they must not mind for they grow like crazy for him... He never does nothing to them... I will plant in a bigger pot and good soil in spring or amend the soil if they are going to be put in The ground... Thank you all for any help.. Here is 3 pictues of it...

This looks to me like a belle banana..
they are pretty cold hardy but they do not like frost..
all i know about them.... sorry

Susan, I am not very good at ID, so I can't help with that. Basjoos are commonly grown outside, but certainly can be brought in. They do really well in my heavy clay soil. Your plant looks a little skinny to be a basjoo, but much depends on light conditions.
Remember to keep your plant misted and watch for spider mites. In spring, it would probably be happy in the ground and could produce many pups for you.
