Bees & Beekeeping

nectar plants for Georgia

I am a landscape designer in Atlanta. I have a client who is getting into beekeeping and he wants me to design a garden with flowering plants that are good sources of nectar for honey bees.

He has a mixture of shady and sunny areas. I was thinking about sowing a mixture of meadow flower seeds in one of the sunny areas and maybe some native azaleas in the shady areas. But this is new to me and more specific plant suggestions would be helpful.

Azaleas aren't known as a particularly good bee plant.
Here's a link that might help. You'll have to go with plants that are specific to your growing conditions
