how do you use a bee nester?

Yes I put a post about bees, but it was more about buying them and the timing. This is not the same thing.

There are nesters available, which are bee houses more or less. How do you put the cocoons in the nesters?

Also I read somewhere that the location you put the cocoon in will determine the gender of the bee (if you put cocoons in the back, male bees, in the front, female bees). Is this true?
