Bees moved onto my birdhouse

I built this birdhouse some time ago. It's been hanging in DS's japanese maple for a while. There were some bees swarming in the neighborhood and for some reason, they decided to hang out on the birdhouse. It's not hollow, so not suitable living quarters for them. They should move on in a few days, according to a bee exterminator, and we'll reclaim the house. We weren't able to locate anyone to come and collect them for their own hives. If anyone here is interested, email me. They're in Duarte, CA. We have no way of knowing how long they'll stay. We've approached the thing several times over a couple of days, and they don't seem to be aggressive. A lot of them are buzzing around during the warm day, but almost all are on the house when it get cooler at night. Linda
