Pussy willows

Now if it was only warmer . Pussy willow tree in front of my hive is in full bloom but the bees find it too cold to go that far. Well some fly but then usually drop dead. Last year they did harvest that tree so just maybe it will warm up in time. I'm really suprised the tree is blooming as there is still almost 3 ft of snow out there.

RE: Pussy willows

The City temperature today was around minus 6 Celsius...out in the
country even colder, at these temp. bees only fly one way.
To collect pollen temperature have to be over 10 degree, looks like
we got to wait a bit yet. The sun must have hit your hive today....I shade
them a bit so not too many take off.
