Ground Covers

Hi,

DH and and I are planning on getting back to beekeeping (just a few hives in our large village garden) after a LONG hiatus. He has stated that he no longer wants to mow around the hive. I have read the recent thread re: mowing, but what he wants is to put down ground cover plant. I'm thinking of White Clover and maybe also patches of Ajugula (bugle weed). Any other suggestions.
