Brand New setting up hive !

Hi, I am just starting out on my beekeeping adventure. I wanted to know, as you add supers or a new screened bottom board or any new parts, is there a standard size so parts are interchangeable or is each manufacturer a little different? Thanks for your help. I've enjoyed reading all the posts you are all so knowledgeable.

Most parts are pretty standard in the US. (Though exact dimentions tend to vary just a little bit from manufacturer to manufacturer) Most equipment is standard 10 frame langstroth, though some use 8 frame. Most of the dealers sell standard 10 frame equipment (Walter T Kelly, Dadant, Mann Lake, Simpsons, etc.) If in doubt, ask.

Not sure about "adding" a screened bottom board. IMO, a SBB is mandatory from day one. If you don't have one, get one.
