I am a first year beekeeper, and my queen must have died. I didn't see any evidence of mites or colapse, etc. but all the bees died out. I ordered some more for the spring, but now ---what to do with the hive.

I closed it up so that varmints wouldn't get in, but there's lots of honey in there. Will it be OK until a new bunch of bees arrives. Will they want it?

Help. Don't know what to do.

Sure, they would love this hive, but you would be taking a risk not knowing why they died.
Perhaps taking some frames to your local bee club and let the expert decide....can you post some pictures of frames?
If diseased, you could still use the honey for yourself and use new frames.
How sound is your equipment....did you get used, new?
