springtime wasps finding a home

Every year mid spring we have swarms of wasps around our house looking for a home of their own. Once summer comes, they dissipate. Our problem this year is that our home is on the market and I am worried about people looking at the house during this time. We have never been stung (cross fingers!). Does anyone have any suggestions to alleviate this problem?

One thing comes to mind....
look around often and spot any wasp or Queen starting up such a colony, get rid of it before the nest gets established.
You don't need to kill them, just scrap the nest clean and put something there in it's place.
Just a idea.

ditto Konrad. It's funny that before I started keeping bees I was deathly afraid of wasps because I was stung once when I was a kid. A wasp landed on my shin and I started shaking my leg to try and get it off and it stung me. After I started with bees, I thought about it and realized that was the only time I've been bothered by one and we've always had them in our attic and shed. I think it's mostly a state of mind.
