springtime wasps finding a home

| Every year mid spring we have swarms of wasps around our house looking for a home of their own. Once summer comes, they dissipate. Our problem this year is that our home is on the market and I am worried about people looking at the house during this time. We have never been stung (cross fingers!). Does anyone have any suggestions to alleviate this problem? |

One thing comes to mind.... look around often and spot any wasp or Queen starting up such a colony, get rid of it before the nest gets established. You don't need to kill them, just scrap the nest clean and put something there in it's place. Just a idea. Konrad |

| ditto Konrad. It's funny that before I started keeping bees I was deathly afraid of wasps because I was stung once when I was a kid. A wasp landed on my shin and I started shaking my leg to try and get it off and it stung me. After I started with bees, I thought about it and realized that was the only time I've been bothered by one and we've always had them in our attic and shed. I think it's mostly a state of mind. |
