Petunias & bees

Does anyone know if petunia make very good bee plants? We had two plants last year and I saw butterflys by them a time of two, but never caught a bee working them.

I'm certainly no expert at gardening (so take this with a grain of salt) but I don't recall seeing Petunias ever being mentioned in the literature as a source of nectar or pollen for honeybees.
