Will the bees mind being put into a super with only 5 frames, is that your question? They don't mind, but you might. Within a few days of being put into such a box, they will start to draw out the comb. Within a week, they will start to make burr comb. Left to their own devices, they will cross comb the whole box and you will not have much of a hive, it will be more like a skep. My advice would be to borrow some good clean frames with foundation from another beekeeper. When yours arrive, you can pay him/her back with similar equiptment. Just last Sunday I got a call from somebody in your situation. I happened to have some drawn comb to lend him, he will bring back some with foundation some day.

Indeed. Do not ever have a hive without a full complement of frames.

Sure. cooler dark place. make sure you feed them.

Take and cut a board roughly the shape of a frame to put against what frames you have. Fill the space on the other side with whatever is clean and handy- styrofoam works ok. Let the bees work the frames they have til your new ones arrive and you can remove the dummy board and packing.
