Florida Beekeepers- I need your help!!!!

I am a chef instructor @ Orlando Culinary Academy (Orange County). We would like to have bee hives to use as an educational experience. We have a sponsor who would donate the hives, bees, and gears, and would even help us process it, and let us sell it for fundraiser money. But the problem is our dear landlord. I need something that states that a beekeeper is not liable for injury to a person substained from the bees on his land ( a court ruling, a state or county statute). I know this sounds weird- but they are a PITA, and I seem to be running in circles finding out information. If any one can help me, I would be SO greatful!!!!

This issue has been discussed on this forum quite a lot. Perhaps doing a Search will bring up some of the past discussions. While I am not in Florida, if I may make a suggestion - if you call the local exterminators/bee keepers in your area, they probably can give you all of the information you need that pertains to your particular area. Personally, I doubt anyone could ever bring a law suit - unless the problem became acute - after all, bees are everywhere. The only thing - however, is that raising bees in large quantities in heavily populated areas - would in my opinion, be inconsiderate. Just my 2 c's. Bejay

Most of the time it's not an issue. They would have to prove that they were stung by your bees. It's nearly impossible. There should be some court cases to look up. Try beesource.com
