Contemplating a Hive of My Own, but Wasps?

Today I helped a friend of mine move a wild honey bee swarm off his front yard fence and into a proper hive box. Got me wanting a hive of my own out here in the woods again.

Main question I have is that we have quite a few wasps out here. Mostly paper wasps like yellowjackets, but a few brown and black ones as well. I've seen many bumbles, carpenter, and honey bees in the yard, but I have read that some wasps will go after honey bees.

Assuming that I'm killing wasp nests on sight, should I be particularly concerned about trying to start a hive in the same general area, or is the presence of other wild bees enough evidence that they'd be fine?

I wouldn't be concerned with other bees around, ..you should be fine getting honey bees.
