A few bee questions

| This is my first visit to this forum. I am very ignorant where bees are concerned. Quite simply my question is, do all bees polinate or just honey bees? Every summer I see both bumble bees rolling around in my roses and yellow jackets near some of my other plants. Are they doing things beneficial to the plants or is that strictly the honey bees doing all the work? Sorry for the silly question, but 30 minutes of internet searches didn't provide an answer.
Also, what are mason bees? Do I have those in CT? I saw instructions on how to build a bee house for them, but it obviously makes no sense to do so if they're not around. |

| all bees pollinate, but not the same plants. And wasps are hornets are NOT pollinators, but rather meat eaters and rotten fruit eaters. It's a common misconception that yellow jackets, for example, are pollinators. |

| Bumblebees are better pollinators than honey bees for some crops but they aren't as prevalent.scroll down the list of posts and there is at least one about mason bees. |
