Small Swarm

Hi;

I just bixed a small swarm from out of my neighbors yard.

The fact that it is so small creates doubt if it can build up enough to make it through the winter. I live in upstate S.C. and the winters can be pretty cold. My question!

#1 Can I take a couple frames from one of my strong hives (it has two brood boxes) and introduce them (by the newspaper method) to the small hive?

#2 If I do this and the frames have brood in them will the brood be effected during the time they take to eat through the newspaper and merge?

#3 What would be your suggestion be as to how many frames to move, keep in mind, all the frames (9) that's in the new sworm just has foundation.

I know when I move the frames from the strong hive it will reduse the output (honey) of the strong hive but that is not a problem.

Thanks for any help

Barnabus
