swarm of honeybees

have a swarm that just settled into my yard. They are on a low branch close to the ground. I am hoping that they don't decide to stay to close by our house. I worry about my cat getting into the swarm and the kids in the neighborhood. I wish I knew a nearby beekeeper to come and get them. Do you suppose they will leave soon and go far away? Any suggestions?

They will likely leave within a few days if not sooner. They would much prefer to be inside a hollow tree or other spot where there is some protection (walls of a house for instance). Should the become a problem you might be able to find a beekeeper in the area that does removals.

Thanks Tim. They left this morning, as quickly as they came. Pretty neat. Dawn
