Success With My Mason Bee House!

I put out a commercially purchased round container of cardboard tubes. I hung it under our wide overhang on the southeast corner of the garage. From the ground I can see that four of the tubes have been filled right to the end. I haven't checked whether any others are partly used. I'm very excited, since I got it out a bit later than I had planned. But, it was a cool, late spring, so I guess it was OK. Others have said that each year their populations increase 5-10 fold, so hopefully mine will continue to increase as well. I'm also planting early spring blooming shrubs and fruit plants (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, elderberries) to provide more nectar and pollen sources close to home.

Anyone else had good luck with Mason Bees this year?

Martha
