Bumblebee problem

I have a bumblebee nest under my sidewalk right in front of my front door. Now I am well aware of the benefits of bees and my fruit trees and garden appreciate them greatly but they crossed the line last night. I was hanging out with my 4 year old daughter out front and I have always told her that bumblebees won't bother her. Guess what, I was wrong. One landed on her face and stung her eyelid. Now her right eye is all swollen. I'm now obligated get these bumblebees relocated. Since they are under the sidewalk I can't move the nest. I'm trying to find a way to get them to just go away without getting medieval on them. Any suggestions would be appreciated

This is unfortunate, rarely done by bumbles, hope your daughter will forgive.
It looks like the bumble queen or worker female got threatened and wanted to protect their nest.
We still need to respect them and stay a bit clear of their nest, ....then you should be fine.
Soon, the life cycle of raising new bumbles is over, followed by winter kill and perhaps a queen will survive
and start all over in spring, most likely not at the same place.
