Not a bee person...have a colony

I don't know any bee people...haven't got a clue where to find one. We have a large colony swarming/hanging (don't know the proper lingo) on a catalpa tree. It's precarious in that it's very near a riding arena, tree house and vegetable garden. Presently it's new, and about 10 feet above the ground.

What will happen if we ignore it? Will the bees be aggressive?

What is the normal MO in this situation?

While driving in town a while agoI saw a sign in an auto parts store window that said, "HONEY"...I went in, and there was a beekeeper working there. He's on his way out to remove them for us.

Good for you. As I am also in Indiana, it would have been helpful if you'd stated where you were.
