Packaged Bees - Mess

I started four new colonies of bees using packed bees. After getting them into the colonies, I put an empty super over the hive and put in jars of sugar water. On one hive, rather than draw out the new comb I gave them, they built their own frames in tne empty super above attaching them to the top cover. Those frames are full of brood.

What should I do with this hive. Roger Morse in one of his books suggests removing them from the cover and tieing them to wood frames that have no wax. That seems like it could be difficult to do with the frames full of bees. Somehow, I would like to get those bees onto regular frames.

What are people's preferred feeder? I just purchased the feeders that are built like frames and take the place of one frame. I think they are called division board feeders. Curious if others use these.

Thanks,

Robert

Robert, you did fine!.. except, there should be a cover over your bees, [inner cover] so the bees can'tgo up. You can still feed them like this, haveing the jars over hole in the inner cover. You can tie the comb with elastic band into empty frames, the bees will draw it out more
and attach it to the frame.
I also use the frame feeder...my second year into bees.
