Attracting Pollination bees

I would like to attract pollinating bees to my yard. I live in Central Florida. I would like to plants flowers that help and also build a bee house. I went to HD to find the wood. First I could not find a 4x4 that was untreated. They have cedar that is a 2 x 2, but not sure if the bees would go in that. Tell me what the perfect situation would be. I want to attract as many as possible. Thanks

Are you trying to attract mason bees or honey bees? Do we have mason bees in FL? I don't see either one in my garden and there used to be a lot. I went to a nursery this morning wtih the idea to walk through and buy whatever plants I saw with bees on them. Did not see a single bee!
