How long will bumblebees nest under my board?

I inadvertantly disturbed at least one bumblebee nest last night when I started ripping out an out-of-control weed patch.

Hubby and I also discovered quite a few bumbles returning to what was obviously a nest under a board in the same area. I want to protect the bees, but I also want nto clean up my yard and get more appropriate landscapig going.

Can I move the nest under the board? How long can I expect them to be there?

Three or four repeatedly divebombed me everytime i tried to go back in to pull weeds. They never offered to sting, but they were quite perturbed at me. I really rather not get stung.

What I want is to live peaceably with my bees and still accomplish my goals. Is there any hope for an idealist? Especially since I have only seen one honeybee on our property this year? :o(

If possible, let it be for the season, and try to work around it. In late fall mated queens will find a place to dig into the ground to overwinter. The rest of the colony will die

Thanks, tony. Sorry I disappeared. Massive storms through here knocked us out of commission for a time.

I will try and leave them be. The nest under the board, especially, should be no problem. As for the other theoretical nest, that I may or may not have disturbed, I will lay it by ear and look carefully to note any potential goings-on.
