I live in saratoga, new york, usa. i have what looks like a cross between a bee/craw fish/humming bird. let me explain: it is about and inch and 1/2 long with a tail that looks like a craw fish. a long nose like a hummingbird, and wings similar to a bee. it is a yellowish brown color with strips. is it a bee or some type of hummingbird? i have never really seen anything like this before in my yard. it likes the nector in my phlox. i was curious what it is because the other day it actually chaced after me while i was holding my 12 week old baby. i am allergic to bees and need to find out if this might be a concern. Any suggestions?
