Took Beehive home now what?

My friends dad used to keep bees but this year a box filled just by itself and he told me,[friend] to get them, so I went tonight and howled them about 7 miles to my acreage.

I always wanted some bees, have never kept any, I'm not afraid of them, just would like to have some advise from you

experts out there. I know, it's not easy, but perhaps with you, it might work?

O.K. this is what I did so far, they are sitting in the trailer, [open], I think it's one box, maybe two, there is insulation material around it so I couldn't really see.

The entrance has some kind of wire screen, I listen, they where humming nicely, tomorrow

I like to place them permanent on the floor, on some plywood??

Just thought, if they are closer to the ground, better insulation for winter??

I know, there is a risk of mice, but if I put mice poison out, [pellets] would that be O.K.??

What about mites....I think need some treatment for winter??

Anything else I got to do???

Thanks for any advise!

Konrad
