Shop Vac for YJs?

I'm just overrun with YJ nests this year, and really have to remove some of them. I was thinking about using a shop vac on a couple of the nests, which are right on our creek so I cant use pyrethrum.

My thought is to put a few inches of water in the bottom of the canister, so they'll have somewhere to drown in there. But do I need oil on top of the water or anything like that? I'm afraid to use soap, because of the foaming thing.

If this sounds reasonable (and reasonably safe), what time of day sould I do the deed?

Ok, you won't have to put anything in there for them to drown in. The vac will be powerful enough that when you suck them up they will get slammed into the canister with enough force to smash them. But, if you want to be on the safe side, you can put water in there. If you want to get as many as possible, you need to do it in the evening when they are all home. But they won't be happy about it.
