how to encourage bumblebees to move?

We've noticed bumblebees hovering near our firewood storage area under the eaves. Last week I began to add new wood to the stacks when one popped out and followed me around. It followed me into the house and stung me badly. I was very sweaty from mowing the lawn and don't know if it didn't like my smell. We cannot walk near that spot now without one or more bees coming out and buzzing aggressively. I hate to use insecticide, but I don't want to risk that we or our grandchildren will be stung. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can't: you have to change the place.... burn it?
