Bee Pasture

I keep one hive of bees for pollination and honey and am planning to expand to ten-fifteen this coming spring. I own quite a bit of pasture that I am in the process of re-seeding. I've planted the obvious clovers as well as a little alfalfa and some vetch. What am I missing?
I need stuff that will produce lots of good honey, is non-poisonous to my livestock and is visably attractive. Thanks in advance for you time and expertise. |

| My old copy of Honey Plants of North America lists alfalfa as a main source of surplus honey in California. Some other plants listed other than almonds and fruit trees are carpet grass, sheeps tansy, star thistle(yields shasta honey) Fall plants: blue curls, jackass clover, stinkweed, spikeweed clover, tarweed. I'm not sure how buckwheat does in your area but it produces an abundance of long lasting flowers and you can do two or three plantings in one season. Pure buckwheat honey is strong flavored, almost like molasses and is dark in color |
