| Good evening all,
I am a rookie bee keeper (only 2 hives). I did the powdered sugar shake test last week and found some varroa mites. I understand in the future, honey should be pulled earlier and fall treatments started. I purchased some Apistan strips and see the instructions are for 1 strip each in the bottom and top hive bodies, opposite sides. Due to the colder weather (mix of 40-60 degrees) for high temps, I didn't know if it would work better to use two strips per hive body. In the future I will alternate with Apiguard and start earlier in the fall. Any comments would be appreciated.
