How to find European Hornets Nest?

| There are scads of them flying around my yard.....killing my lilac bushes, and all around pine trees. We had had a nest in our house in the chimney about 4 years ago but got rid of that, it's not there. They are away from the house.
Called the exterminator and he has no idea - they weren't traveling back to the nest while he was here. I have heard that sometimes there are ones who are "lost" but we are talking 50-100 bees.... Also have heard that sometimes there are workers prepping for a baby queen which is somewhere. I'd like to find out where that somewhere is!
If we could find the nest, that would help. Any suggestions on how to do this would be helpful! Thanks! |

| I had something like that when I lived in a rental house once, they were in the walls and I once seen some living in a hollow tree I think they make nests only inside instead of out in the open, put something on the ground that they like to eat when they are on food place a jar over them then wiggle the jar, they will fly upwards, put lid on jar , you need several jars to catch many of them ,when sun starts going down turn one of them loose and follow it as far as you can then turn another one loose they will lead you to their nest DLP |
