Bee identification

My son called me last evening to ask for help in IDing bees. The bees he is seeing currently look like honey bees but are a bit larger. He runs a garden center and is finding them on the mums; the bees are not aggressive.

Rather than stripes, these bees have two "V" shaped marks, one inverted, that meet at the point of the "V."

I've done a quick internet search but can't find anything similar to what he described to me.

TIA for any help.

RE: Bee identification

It's hard without a picture and I'm no expert on bee identification. There's a sight called "what's buzzing in my garden" that may help. I've also listed a sight below of bee photos. Hope this helps, Tony
