Problem with bees inside my apartment

Posted by bugula (My Page) on

Hi,
I'm from East coast Canada and I recently moved in a new apartment. As the weather is starting to get cooler, I started to see bees in my kitchen, usually 1 or 2 a day. No windows are open and I checked for cracks or possible holes in the wall or cabinets but couldn't find any. So I have no idea where they are coming from. I checked outside and nothing there either. Yesterday, I found more, dead and alive. What should I do? Where should I look to find the hive? Is there anything I can do to make sure they won't sting (e.g. some traps or sticky stuff)? Thanks!

RE: Problem with bees inside my apartment

I'm having the same problem, almost exactly. I have checked everything as well, and can't find how they are getting in my house. I have two small children and this is huge concern to me. I can't post a pic of the bees, but they resemble a big honey bee or a small hornet to me. I'm not a bee expert so I could be way off, but thats what they look like to me. It's only happened in the past few days as the weather has gotten cooler, and usually only see 1-2 once a day mostly in my kitchen where there are no windows/doors. I have evEn checked my fireplace and had it cleaned, so what could the problem be? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!
