Getting bees to come here

gnappi

I have dozens of tropical fruit trees here in South Florida and till recently I have had very few bees, though I dis see the odd bumble bee, and honey bee and some wasps.

In desperation I have been hand pollinating my carambola and passionfruit with great success but I "REALLY" want bees to do the job for me as next season I will have a lot more trees coming into flowering and do not want to pollinate them myself if possible.

To that end, I started to go to Lowes and HD to observe their perennial flower collections and have been buying what "appeared" to attract bees there.

Luckily they are rather inexpensive and I can afford to buy them, but I'm wondering, are there any specific home cultured flowers that really attract bees in large quantities and flower for a long period of time in south Florida?

TIA, for any advice,

Gary
