bees in water meter box

We have a nest of honeybees in our water meter box thingy. It is slap full of honey. We would like to try and move them and keep them. We live about 45 minutes from Tupelo, MS. Is there an experienced beekeeper close who would be willing to mentor us? If not, any advice would be appreciated.

You might try contacting one of the beekeeping associations in your state or your local agricultural extention office to see if they can put you in touch with a local beekeeper. (Or perhaps call a local health food store and see if they buy any local honey.) Sometimes pest control companies keep a list of beekeepers too, but not always.

Here is a link that might be useful: Beekeeping Associations in Mississipi
