Bees in the Birdfeeder

I've found this question posed before, and the responds asked for pics. Well, I have some pics, and have the same question. Why would bees be soooo attracted to my bird feeders lately? One set of feeders has Hen Scratch, the other has a "critter mix". I welcome all wildlife into my yard and don't mind the bees. The feeders have been up for years, the bees have just showed up in the past week. This has been a typical 'on again, off again' fall for southeast texas. Temperatures in the 30's one week, mid 70's the past few days. Any thoughts???

...now if I can figure out how to post the pics...

They're licking off the the dusty fine particle's on the seeds, this they can use as pollen substitute,....it happens allot when they can't find much out there, bee-keepers sometimes put pollen patties in to help for this problem, ...I used to makes patties myself.

Thank you for the response. And it's safe to assume they are honey bees.?.

Yeah, the feed you are using must be a good subsitute for pollen, if it bugs you then try switching to a different brand of feed.
