I have mostly the white 'alba' form of Begonia grandis growing on the floor of my unheated greenhouse. The pink variety spread so much under my greenhouse benches (became a weed) that I sprayed the majority of it last spring with Roundup herbicide leaving only a couple of plants.
The bulbils are only produced in late summer/autumn and if you give the plant what it wants it can become a real nuisance spreading through everything. Where I used to live I would pull it up by the wheelbarrow full and then throw it away or else it would 'contaminate' my compost.
If you are willing to wait, I can get you some of this plant - you have anything good to trade for it?
